5.8 magnitude earthquake shakes central Mexico
On December 7, 2023, central Mexico experienced a seismic event as a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck the central state of Puebla, located south of Mexico City. The quake, captured on video by @Enrique_bencomo, prompted residents in the capital to evacuate buildings and spill into the streets. Despite the unsettling tremors, there have been no immediate reports of damages. The epicenter of the earthquake was recorded at a depth of 27 miles (44 km).
