STORYLINE:

The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is of great significance and has contributed significantly to the development of Arab countries, an Egyptian expert told Xinhua in a recent interview.

"Arab countries have many development needs in education, health, infrastructure, and other projects that contribute to raising their citizens' standard of living.
The BRI is one of the most important development initiatives in the world, and there are mutual benefits between Arab countries, governments, and people and the Chinese side. Therefore, all Arab countries joining this initiative is logical and contributes to achieving stability and development in this turbulent region in the world.
Many countries benefited from this initiative, including Egypt, which helped establish a business district in its new administrative capital, infrastructure, port, railway, and energy development projects.
China also provides financing for projects on favorable terms commensurate with each country's economic and development conditions. China also offers its advanced technologies to build regional energy and water security projects."

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. So far, China has signed Belt and Road cooperation documents with all 22 Arab countries and the Arab League.
