STORYLINE:

Facing the recent high incidences of respiratory infectious diseases among children, medical authorities across China have coordinated medical resources and taken multiple measures to optimize diagnosis and treatment process to improve efficiency.

Currently, pediatric medical institutions nationwide continue to run around the clock, providing necessary medical support for minor patients timely.

"Starting from November, the number of patients with respiratory infections has increased significantly. The patients are mainly group infection. A lot of children have been affected in the school, at home, and in the kindergarten. Compared with previous years, quite a lot have developed lower respiratory tract diseases such as bronchitis and pneumonia.
More medical staff have been dispatched to the outpatient department. For some simple treatments, such as nebulization, nasal cleaning, medicine dispensing, specimen collection, and injection, we also increase the deployment of manpower and material resources, so that we can cope with this peak of medical treatment."

According to the Chinese health authority, China has recorded a fluctuating decrease in the overall diagnosis and treatment volume of pediatric respiratory diseases at its secondary and higher-level medical institutions nationwide.
