"Since the cooperation zone started trial operation on Sept. 15, we have received 96 tourist groups from inside China, or some 1,000 visits, as well as 165 tourist groups from Vietnam, or around 2,600 visits."

During the trial operation, tourists holding passports and exit-entry permits from the two countries are allowed to enter the zone.

"The cross-border tourism cooperation zone has attracted a lot of merchants and tourists, making great contributions to the local economic development. It has also contributed to the friendship and understanding between the two peoples, and helped strengthen friendly ties between the two countries."

After the one-year trial period ends, facilities will be further improved, business models enriched, and discussions held based on the results of cooperation and market demand.
