A groom at a Congolese wedding in Tottenham, London, stopped the celebrations and enlisted the guests' help to find his missing ring.

Footage from November 11 shows the groom speaking into a microphone saying: "My left is empty. My wife has told me I cannot come home without my ring, find it!"

A later clip shows the groom waving his hand in the air showing off his recovered ring to the jubilant guests.

The filmer told Newsflare: "I attended a Congolese wedding at La Royale Banqueting Suites in London. Us wedding guests were partying on the dance floor when the DJ abruptly stopped the music and a man announced his missing ring.

"Because I’m short, I couldn’t see who was speaking on the microphone until the gentleman moved into the middle of the dance floor. This is when I saw that it was the groom who lost his wedding band.

"He asked us to help him look for the ring and even made us clear the dance floor for better visual. He then searched his trouser pocket and found his diamond wedding ring inside.

"We all celebrated and continued partying with him until the end of the night."
