These kind-hearted strangers helped a man recover more than GBP 1,000 he accidentally lost when a strong wind blew them off his hands through the open car window.

CCTV cameras captured the incident outside an open car park in Qingdao, in Shandong Province, eastern China, on the morning of December 10.

In the footage a man identified only as Ma could be seen driving his white SUV into the parking.

While in the car, Ma attempted to hand a stash of CNY 10,000 (GBP 1,122) to a friend who sat in the front passenger's seat.

However, due to a poorly closed window, the money accidentally spilled out of his hand and got carried away by a strong wind.

Shocked, Ma stopped the car and he and his friend ran outside in panic. Meanwhile, several passersby who noticed him lose the cash were quick to help and began chasing after the scattered banknotes.

Everyone bent down and diligently picked up the money off the ground.

Within minutes, Ma and his friend were able to retrieve the entire sum with the strangers' help.

Ma later said: 'I was trying to hand my friend CNY 10,000 [GBP 1,100], but it didn't go well. Then, a gust of wind came and scattered it.

'The nearby shop owners and pedestrians came over to pick up the money.

'After picking it up, not a single bill was missing, and they returned the entire amount to me.'

One of the helpers, who chose to remain anonymous, told local media: 'This is something everyone should do. I hope you can cherish this money.'
