A scooter rider narrowly dodged serious injuries in back-to-back car collisions within only 14 seconds in southern China.

The video was filmed in the city of Yichun in Jiangxi Province on December 3.

A helmeted rider was navigating his electric scooter towards the direction of Yichun Bai Shu Elementary School when an Audi, emerging from the residential complex, collided with the man and his vehicle.

The impact sent the rider sprawling, his helmet tumbling to the ground, and the electric scooter being dragged several metres by the Audi.

Miraculously, the man, despite lying on the ground for a brief moment, managed to move and attempted to stand up. Little did he know, a mere 14 seconds later, another vehicle, a Buick, exited the same residential complex and struck the already fallen rider. Both drivers emerged from their vehicles to assess the situation.

Upon receiving the distress call, the Yichun City Public Security Bureau Traffic Police Brigade, Yiyang Squadron Accident Handling Team swiftly arrived at the scene. After conducting alcohol breath tests, all three drivers were cleared of any suspicion of driving under the influence.

Remarkably, medical examinations revealed that the electric scooter rider suffered only superficial injuries, escaping the double collision relatively unscathed.

Following the investigation, the traffic police determined that the electric scooter rider was not at fault for the accidents. The responsibility was evenly divided between the Audi and Buick drivers, with the Audi driver additionally held liable for covering the repair costs of the electric scooter.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
