Visibility dropped as heavy fog shrouded northern Thailand today.

Footage shows the thick mist blanketing roads, prompting drivers to travel with caution in Chiang Rai province on December 15 morning.

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) said said the temperature dropped to 19 degrees Celsius as a high-pressure system from China was affecting Thailand's upper northeastern region, while easterly winds may were prevailing over the east and lower central plains.

It said morning fog and cool weather were expected in the north, while isolated rains may fall in the east and lower central region, including Bangkok and its vicinity.

The TMD forecasted cool temperatures and fog for December 15, with a temperatures of 19 to 32 degrees Celsius.
