A security guard devoted three days to carving out a lifelike dragon from the accumulated snow in northern China.

The impressive video was filmed in the city of Harbin in Heilongjiang Province on December 13.

This majestic snow dragon spans approximately 5 metres in length and stands at a height of more than 2 metres. Every detail is meticulously crafted, bringing the dragon to life.

Upon inquiry, it was revealed that Chen Deguang, a 56-year-old security guard is no stranger to the world of art. From a young age, he had a passion for drawing. Whether in class or at home, he would spend his time sketching. Despite lacking formal training, his dedication over the years allowed him to develop his artistic skills.

At the age of 25, he ventured into ice carving and snow sculpture, quickly grasping the techniques. In his 30s, he began using his spare time to create ice and snow sculptures with a group of enthusiasts, turning it into a source of income during winter.

When asked about his motivation for creating the snow dragon at the entrance of the residential area, Chen Deguang chuckled and explained, "The initial idea was to make use of waste. The snow this year was too much to discard, and since I enjoy sculpture and have previously participated in events like the Sun Island Snow Expo, I decided to sculpt a dragon. With the upcoming Year of the Dragon, I hope the dragon brings good luck to everyone."

Chen's passion for art and his desire to bring joy to his community through his creations reflect the spirit of creativity and optimism, turning a routine snow-clearing task into a breathtaking display of artistry for all to enjoy.

经了解，大叔名叫陈德光，今年 56 岁，是香坊区立汇美罗湾三期的一名普通保安。他自幼便喜爱画画。他上课时画，回家也画，虽没有专业老师教，但时间长了，也画得有模有样。 25 岁开始接触冰雕和雪雕，非常喜欢，业余时间就会暗暗地琢磨。因为有画画的功底，很快就悟出了门道。30 多岁开始，每到冬天便会带着工具，开始跟着一帮人四处制作冰雕、雪雕赚钱了。
提起在小区门口做雪雕龙，陈德光笑着说：" 初衷是废物利用。今年的雪太大了，扔了可惜，而我又喜欢雕塑，以前还参加过太阳岛雪博会等的冰雕、雪雕。为什么要雕塑龙，是因为马上就是龙年了，也希望龙能给大家带来好运。"
