"Green bricks, black tiles and Ma Tau wallwatts. This is Wuyuan County in China's Jiangxi Province, which is known to many as 'China's most beautiful countryside.' Tuochuan, a small mountain town in Wuyuan, attracts over 50,000 people each year for sketching."

"To sketch, you first need to find a place with a beautiful landscape. We've come to the right place. This is said to be one of the earliest sketching bases in Tuochuan."

In 2001, "Yu Dizhu Sketching Base" founded by Yu and his father was formally inaugurated. 

Nowadays, nearly 200 art academies have established offices in Tuochuan, designating it as a permanent sketching base.

"In 2001, my father and I were engaged in transportation from Tuochuan to Wuyuan's county seat. One day we met about 20 students and teachers from Hubei Institute of Fine Arts in Wuhan. Then we introduced them to Tuochuan. As soon as they got off the bus, they found the place beautiful and suitable for sketching. They then told many others about Tuochuan. That's how our base gradually gained popularity."

Sketching bases like this have attracted tourists and created business opportunities for young entrepreneurs.
