In a recent revelation, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) exposed a vast underground tunnel system constructed by Hamas, led by Muhammad Sinwar, near the Erez Humanitarian Crossing in Gaza. The massive network, spanning over four kilometers, was strategically positioned merely 400 meters from the Erez crossing.

The Erez Crossing, previously a symbol of hope and coexistence, has facilitated over one million crossings in 2023. Unfortunately, on October 7th, it became a focal point of a Hamas invasion, resulting in the tragic loss of IDF soldiers CPL Nik Beizer and SGT Ron Sherman.

The IDF's continuous efforts to dismantle these terror tunnels, some located beneath sensitive sites, have employed advanced operational, intelligence, and technological means. Lt. Col. Richard Hecht, IDF International Spokesperson, emphasized Hamas' prioritization of attacking Israel over supporting Gaza's residents.

The video shows a drone footage from inside the tunnel and videos depicting soldiers' activities in exposing and examining it further. The IDF remains committed to safeguarding its borders against threats posed by such subterranean networks.
