Firefighters battled a fire tearing through a recycling centre in Thailand on Friday morning.

Footage shows responders hosing down the blaze that engulfed the 10-rai factory containing flammable materials in Saraburi province on December 15. Billowing black smoke rose from the building, which was filled with plastic, wood, and cardboard boxes causing the flames to spread rapidly.

Three people were reported injured. The fire had also destroyed machinery and trucks.

Saraburi Governor Bancha Chaowarin arrived at the scene to oversee the firefighting operations.

Police Captain Jakkapong Deetuan of the Wihan Daeng District Police Station said the fire may have been caused by sparks during welding, which ignited a fuel tank in the factory.

Its exact cause was still being investigated.

Local official Pornchai Yaemploy said the factory had been hit by a fire caused by a lightning strike two months ago.
