A dramatic video has emerged from Slovenia of a man being rescued from a frozen lake earlier this week.

The man became trapped when he walked out onto the ice to rescue a woman and her 2-year-old child who had themselves fallen into the water.

Locals managed to rescue the woman and the child but couldn't haul the man to safety.

The video from January 2016 shows firemen arriving at the lake to rescue him.

When the firemen walk out onto the ice, they too fall through and have to pick their way through the water to the man. They then use a sled attached to a rope to pull the man onto dry land.

The woman with her 2 years old baby has fallen into icy lake. A man tried to recue them and he fell into the lake, too. The observers have rescued a baby and a woman but couldn't managed to pull out the man because of the weight.
We called the firemen and they came in 10 min to recue the man.
