In the early hours of Saturday, December 9, 2023, at approximately 1:50 am, a Trooper initiated a traffic stop for a speeding Chevy passenger car northbound on I-15. The vehicle failed to comply, exiting at 31st Street, then re-entered the northbound on-ramp in the wrong direction on the left shoulder.

In the ensuing pursuit, the Trooper collided with the wrong-way vehicle, rendering it disabled. The driver was apprehended, and three other adult males in the car sustained minor injuries. The Trooper, who incurred moderate injuries, was transported to a local hospital.

The Weber County Sherriff’s office investigated the collision, revealing that Troopers conducted a DUI investigation resulting in the driver's arrest, along with additional charges.
