Bangkok mall marks Christmas season with giant Pikachu statue
A shopping mall was today decked out in Pokemon-themed Christmas decor to welcome the holiday season in Thailand.
With the theme 'The Great Celebration 2024 x Pikachu', CentralWorld in Bangkok set up a giant 50ft Pikachu statue to greet shoppers.
The beloved electric mouse Pokemon was stationed next to a towering 115ft Christmas tree at the mall's entrance.
To add to the festive Christmas spirit, six photo zones featuring other iconic Pokemon like Eevee, Snorlax, and Bulbasaur were opened for visitors to take selfies in.
These are the Maze Of Merry Arena, Sparkling Station Arena, The Greatest Buddy Arena, Frosty Friends Party Arena, Happiness Charging Arena, and Everlasting Firework Celebration Arena.
In the evening, snow machines were turned on, showering mall-goers with a flurry of fake snow.
Other malls in Bangkok such as Central Chidlom, Central Bangna, Central Pinklao, and Central Ladprao were also dressed up in Christmas decorations, featuring nutcracker and Santa parades as Christmas carols played on the speakers.
