Amtrak Train and Truck Collision in California, USA

On the 13th of December, an Amtrak train collided with a truck-tractor combination on SR118 at Sand Cyn Road, leading to the closure of the road. Fortunately, there were no significant injuries reported, and only one railroad car derailed without obstructing the roadway.
In the latest update, CHP Moorpark, in collaboration with VCFD, has been on-site, assisting and transporting four patients to local hospitals with minor to moderate injuries. The section of SR118 between Balcom Canyon Rd and SR 34 is anticipated to remain closed into the early morning hours for the removal of the semi and road repairs. Commuters are advised to seek alternate routes.
Efforts are underway to clear the road and make necessary repairs for the reopening of SR-118 ahead of the morning commute. The final update confirms that the last train car is back on track, and SR-118 is fully reopened. Commuters are urged to exercise caution in the area and extend gratitude for their patience during the resolution of this incident.
