This is the heartwarming moment a seafarer surprised his girlfriend by proposing at a train station.

Mark Magnaye, 33, proposed to his girlfriend of one year, Wenzel Joy Odono, 31, at the building in Manila, the Philippines.

Footage shows Mark standing on the corner of the establishment near the entrance of the train, waiting for Wenzel on October 17.

When Wenzel walks toward the card reader terminal exit, her boyfriend calls her name and gives her a warm embrace and a bouquet.

Moments later, Mark takes off his jacket and grabs the ring from his pocket. He proceeds to kneel on one knee and asks his partner to be his wife.

The stunned girlfriend eventually says 'yes'.

Speaking after, Wenzel said: 'Originally, I planned to pick him up at the airport, but he didn't have the flight details. To my surprise, when he returned home, he proposed.

'I had no idea because we were together for just a year, and I thought he didn't have a ticket yet. It was truly shocking when I turned around and saw him.

'I never expected him to propose at that moment.

'All I can say is that what the elders say is true - you'll know when he is the one, and you'll feel it.

'I cried to God when we first met because my feelings were so strong. I had just ended a five-year relationship and decided to marry the guy I had been dating for a year.'
