A group of journalists from international media outlets have been deeply impressed by the development of wine industry in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region after a recent on-site visit.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): ISAURA DIEZ MILLAN, Correspondent, Cuba's Prensa Latina News Agency
"I am Isaura Diez. I'm the chief correspondent of Prensa Latina News Agency in China. This is my second time in China and my second time in Ningxia. Everything is beautiful. And I enjoyed the tour, and everything I know, and this experience to know closely about the industry, about the construction of good wine."

During the visit, Isaura Diez was impressed by Ningxia's achievement in turning the harsh environment into promising vineyards to produce top-quality wine.

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): ISAURA DIEZ MILLAN, Correspondent, Cuba's Prensa Latina News Agency
"I think Ningxia has a great future in wine. I read a lot about the wine here, the industry. So I think it's a good opportunity for this region to develop even more, because if you take this opportunity and develop the wine, I suppose it's the most famous wine from China."

Over the past decades, Ningxia has grown into a major wine-producing region in China. It now has over 200 wineries and grape-growing enterprises, which produced 138 million bottles of wine in 2022, attracting consumers in China and beyond.
