As food banks across Canada and the United States see a record number of people lining up to use their services, donations are down from previous years. The Surrey, British Columbia Food Bank reports numbers for new clients are up about 40% while donation levels are down slightly. This is a common situation with food banks throughout Canada and the United States.

This footage illustrates Kary Movers Ltd of Metro Vancouver picking up donations for the food bank from community collection points and food drives. This is an annual event for the employees and management of Kary Movers. The company donates the trucks and fuel costs while owners, management and employees volunteer to load up donations and deliver them to the warehousing and distribution centre. Today they collected and delivered about 22,000 lbs of donations. The Kary Movers teams will be back out until Friday afternoon to ensure donations get picked up and delivered for families in need this Christmas season.
