In the face of rising floodwaters in Far North Queensland (FNQ), SES volunteers and Fire and Rescue Service swiftwater technicians from the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services have tirelessly rescued over 150 individuals, including a few four-legged companions, over the past few days.
Working through long days and late nights, these dedicated teams have demonstrated unwavering commitment to the safety of the community. As the focus shifts from rescue operations to cleanup and recovery, the crews will continue their presence in the far north, providing essential assistance to locals affected by the ongoing floods.
