In a swift response to an emergency call, Sonoma County Sheriff's Office Helicopter, Henry-1, successfully rescued a crash victim from a ravine on the 15th of December.

A Sonoma County Sheriff’s Deputy, on routine patrol along Highway 1 just north of Jenner, was alerted by citizens to a vehicle off the roadway. The Deputy discovered the overturned vehicle in a ravine.

Henry-1, already on an air patrol, reached the scene within 9 minutes of the Deputy's report. The helicopter landed on Highway 1, and its crew quickly configured for a rescue with a 100-foot long line.

Two Tactical Flight Officers, trained as Emergency Medical Technicians, assessed the victim on-site. Using a Hot Seat Rescue Device, the victim was airlifted to the nearby Monte Rio Fire Department for further medical attention by Sonoma County Fire District Ambulance personnel.
