A motorist who accidentally parked his car under a drainpipe had his bonnet trapped in a giant shell of ice that formed along several feet-long icicles.

Phone footage captured by his unnamed neighbour shows the black Hyundai sedan's rear encased in thick ice at an open car park in Shandong China, on December 18.

Unsure of who the trapped vehicle belonged to, the neighbour asked residents for help.

He said: 'If the car owner sees this video, please drive away immediately.'

One neighbor said they met the owner a short time after and watched him warming up the sedan for 90 minutes before managing to drive off.

A follow-up video shows a giant ice shell left behind in the shape of the Hyundai's rear.
