Russia has claimed that its artillery units took out Ukrainian military positions in southern Donetsk.

The images show Russian soldiers firing with a Giatsint-B Large-Caliber Gunat unseen targets.

The footage shows Russian soldiers loading ammunition into the 152-millimeter towed Giatsint-B cannons.

Then the images cut to explosions on the battlefield, seemingly hitting the Ukrainian military positions.

The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence on Friday, December 22, along with a statement claiming: 'Crews of the 152-millimetre towed Giatsint-B cannons of the artillery units of the Vostok group of forces in various weather and climate conditions suppress and destroy enemy manpower, fire weapons, weapons and military equipment in concentration areas and strongholds.

'The Giatsint-B large-calibre gun is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 40 kilometres, depending on the type of shells used when firing.

'The gun's calculations work smoothly—it takes several minutes from receiving the target's coordinates to firing. Gunners need to work quickly in order to change their firing position in a timely manner and not find themselves in the centre of a counter-battery fight.'

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation.'
