A historic property visited by Charles Dickens has been revealed in Kent, UK this afternoon (December 22).

Records shows Dickens frequently visited friend Captain Johns at Prospect Villa, which is located in Minster on Sea on the Isle of Sheppey.

The property had previously been entirely overgrown, but has now been revealed by builders renovating the building.

Some believe the author wrote some of 'The Old Curiosity Shop' whilst staying as a guest here, as some of the fictional descriptions in the book resemble local characters and locations.
