China and Luxembourg launched the first direct air route for passengers.
A total of 146 passengers flying from China's Zhengzhou in Henan Province landed in Luxembourg on Thursday.

"I think that Luxembourg Airport and Luxembourg can be the gateway for Chinese tourists to discover Europe, given the proximity between Luxembourg and neighboring countries such as Germany, France, and Belgium, and also the Netherlands which is not very far. And similarly, the Zhengzhou airport can be the gateway for bringing European tourists into central China and even beyond, into the rest of China."

In comparison to the previous indirect flights, the new air route saves passengers several hours in travel time.
