27 leading business enterprises of Bangladesh and China have been awarded for their outstanding contributions to bolster the Bangladesh economy.

The Bangladesh-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) and Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB) Thursday jointly held the China-Bangladesh Business Excellence Award 2023 Ceremony which some 380 guests attended.

At the ceremony, Executive Director of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Abhijit Chowdhury said that Bangladesh is very focused on supporting foreign investors, especially Chinese investors.

He added that "I believe the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) will improve economic collaboration between China and Bangladesh to create favorable investment destinations."

Regarding Bangladesh's participation in BRI, he said this has further strengthened the country's position in regional trade and investment.

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen said that in this year, China-Bangladesh trade and investment cooperation have developed steadily. The two countries have jointly witnessed fruitful achievements in the construction of mega projects.

He expressed the hope that Chinese and Bangladeshi enterprises should make full use of the dividends of cooperation under the BRI, give full play to the complementary advantages of the two economies, build China-Bangladesh economic and trade cooperation into a benchmark and model for high-quality development of the BRI.
