Fentanyl-Fueled Car Rampage Ends in Des Moines Arrest in Renton, WA, USA

A 39-year-old Des Moines resident is in custody after a harrowing series of events on Tuesday night. The individual, allegedly under the influence of fentanyl, initiated the chaos by colliding with a patrol car, striking multiple vehicles, and engaging in two subsequent crashes.
Authorities discovered the suspect unconscious at the intersection of SE Petrovistsky Rd and 108th Ave SE. Upon attempting to rouse him, the suspect accelerated, striking the patrol car, and fled on deflated tires. This reckless behavior posed serious risks to both the community and law enforcement.
After two additional crashes, officers successfully apprehended the suspect. Subsequent investigations led to the discovery of 22 fentanyl pills and drug paraphernalia. Chief Jon Schuldt emphasized the grave danger of driving under the influence and expressed gratitude that no injuries occurred during the incident. The suspect faces charges including Eluding Police, DUI, Hit and Run, and Reckless Driving after being medically cleared and booked into jail.
