Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) State Troopers apprehended an impaired driver in the early hours of the morning on State Road 82. The driver, clocked at speeds of 145 mph on Interstate 75 and 120 mph on State Road 82, refused to comply with law enforcement's attempts to stop.
In accordance with Florida law, Driving Under the Influence (DUI) is a serious offense, established by impairment of normal faculties due to substances or a blood alcohol level of .08 or above. Beyond endangering fellow road users, driving impaired can lead to severe legal and financial consequences. Penalties include hefty fines, license revocation, and potential jail time, with DUI convictions remaining on record for up to 75 years.
