An elephant chased a group of people which had gathered around it after it had entered a road in northeastern India's Assam.

This incident happened in Leteku vilage, Marangi Tea Estate, Golaghat on December 22.

Visuals showed the pachyderm walking about on the road with the people around it. Few of them stood at a distance while others followed the wild animal. It seemed quite peaceful at first and the elephant didn't show any sign of aggression.

The elephant strolled about and took a turn and suddenly and to everyone's surprise, it started to chase away the people. The men which were around the pachyderm, were quick to notice the change in the elephant's behaviour and ran away as fast as they could. The elephant however didn't stop and continuing to chase them.
