Large eruptions are still occurring on Mount Marapi in West Sumatra. On Tuesday, December 26, 2023, thick clouds of smoke could still be seen coming out of the crater of the mountain, which is 2,891 meters high above sea level.
This video was taken from Nagari Rambat, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra, at 11.00 WIB. This is the 23rd day since the first major eruption occurred on December 3, 2023, at 14.15 WIT.
Note: This is Mount Marapi in West Sumatra, not Mount Merapi in Java.
