This footage was filmed and produced 26 December 2023.

From 13 p.m. on 25 December 2023, special safety measures are in force for Prague residents and visitors due to the increased risk of flooding. The locks on the Vltava River are closed and the quays and marinas are closed, including entry and exit from ships.
The annual Christmas swim across the Vltava for winter swimmers, which was to take place on 26.12.23 in front of the National Theater for the 77th time, has been canceled due to the increased current. The Czech name of this competition is Memorial Alfreda Nikodema (in honor of Alfred Nikodema, the first Czech to swim across the English Channel). Unable to swim from shore to shore across the Vltava River, the athletes symbolically took a dip in the river water. The record number of participants was set in 2019, when 431 athletes from more than ten countries took part in the swim.
