Tourists on holiday to Mount Ijen in Indonesia saw streams of blue fire in the mountain crater.

Footage filmed on December 23rd in the Ijen Tourism Park Nature Reserve, Mount Ijen, East Java.

The filmer, Nur Lely, commented: "Alhamdulillah, even though I was tired, seeing the beauty of the blue fire defeated my tiredness. I can see the moment when there are many blue fires,"

The trek up the mountain begins at 2am and takes several hours walking up the slopes.

"There are many visitors, many foreign tourists. The terrain is sandy, uphill, rocky and sometimes narrow. You have to be physically and mentally strong," Lely added.

Tourists on year-end holidays to Mount Ijen in Indonesia are in luck - they can see lots of blue fire in the mount crater.

Footage filmed on 23 December in the Ijen Tourism Park Nature Reserve, Mount Ijen, Bondowoso Regency and Banyuwangi Regency, East Java Province.

In a moment filmed by Nur Lely, she said she and her family felt lucky to be able to see a rare natural phenomenon. "There are only 2 in the world .... in Ijen Crater & in Iceland ...... that is BLUE FIRE!" Lely said.

"Alhamdulillah, even though I was tired, seeing the beauty of the blue fire defeated my tiredness. ..amazing, can directly see the power of Allah SWT. I can see the moment when there are many blue fires," Lely added. Lely added.

The trip to Ijen started in Malang. At 6pm were picked up by a guide from the travel agency. Arrived at Bondowoso around 23.30. Make preparations by renting some equipment such as masks and torches. At 2am, after the counter opened, the journey began.

"There are many visitors, many foreign tourists. The terrain is sandy, uphill, rocky and sometimes narrow. You have to be physically and mentally strong," warns Lely.

It takes about 2 hours or more, depending on the speed of the road. "When we reach the top, we pray at dawn before going down to the crater. The drive to the crater takes about 30 minutes. Blue Fire can only be seen when it is dark and the weather is good," she said.

For tourists who are not strong enough to climb Mount Ljen, there are taxis provided by the locals, namely pushcarts. The price varies, of course.
