In a recent operation, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) successfully located and eliminated three tunnel shafts linked to the Hamas organization. The tunnels, situated near the Rantisi Hospital and a nearby High School, were meticulously mapped by IDF soldiers from the 401st Brigade of the 162nd Division, in collaboration with Flotilla 13 and the 'Yahalom' Unit.

The extensive underground network, spanning several kilometers, passed beneath the hospital and reached strategic points in Gaza City. The tunnels were not only used for transportation but also served as command and control centers for orchestrating combat.

The IDF, supported by intelligence from Unit 504 of the Intelligence Directorate, discovered operational shafts, including one in a girls' school and another in a hideout residence used by a Hamas naval unit commander. Subsequently, a joint operation with soldiers from the 'Yahalom' Unit and engineering soldiers from the 14th Brigade led to the destruction of the tunnel infrastructure.

This revelation once again underscores Hamas' cynical use of civilian infrastructure, endangering the lives of residents, including refugees and children, as human shields.

During the operation, soldiers from the 401st and 460th brigades neutralized numerous Hamas members in the hospital area, uncovering significant infrastructure, including command and control centers, media equipment, maps, aids, and weapons.
