In a timely and successful rescue operation, the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Hamilton (WMSL 753) played a crucial role in assisting a distressed U.S.-flagged sailing vessel located approximately 50 miles off the coast of Florida on December 24, 2023. The dedicated crew of the Hamilton engaged in multiple critical tasks, including recovering the sailing vessel's adrift dinghy, restoring propulsion to an engine, assessing the medical status of the crew, conducting post-search and rescue boarding, and escorting the vessel.

Their swift and comprehensive response ensured the safety and well-being of the sailing vessel's crew. The Coast Guard Cutter Hamilton continued to provide support until relieved by a response boat crew from Coast Guard Station Fort Pierce.
