Rescue Operation After Car Plunges Into Anacostia River in Washington, USA

Tragedy struck on Monday afternoon as a man lost his life when his car plunged into the Anacostia River, according to DC Fire and EMS. Responding swiftly to the distress call around 2:15 p.m., emergency crews reached the area near the Anacostia River and 11th St bridge.
The victim, trapped in the submerged Chevy Tahoe for approximately half an hour, was successfully retrieved from the vehicle. Despite the diligent efforts of first responders to administer life-saving measures, the man succumbed to the incident.
The Metropolitan Police Department's Major Crash Unit has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event, seeking to provide clarity on the incident.
