STORYLINE:
As Israel and Hezbollah continue to exchange fire along Israel's volatile northern border, Israeli officials are stepping up threats against Hezbollah, warning that Israel is running out of patience.
Hezbollah has been attacking Israeli posts and villages along the border since the Israel-Hamas conflict broke out on Oct. 7, and the group has launched rockets and drones toward Israeli targets.
Israeli tanks, artillery and aircraft have been striking areas on the Lebanese side of the border. The fighting has been mostly brief, but has taken place almost daily.
The heavy Israeli attacks intensified on Saturday with the Israeli army shelling the outskirts of Al Labbouneh border village, causing heavy damage to the properties, without reporting any casualties.
SOUNDBITE (Arabic): NASSER SROUR, Municipal board member in Al Labbouneh
"So for us in Lebanon, it is true that our people in the area south of the Litani River have lost their crops and even been displaced to other regions. This requires the attention of the Lebanese government to address this situation and offer the displaced people more help than what has been done now because the war has been a long time and could take even a longer time."
Xinhua News Agency correspondents reporting from Beirut.
