This is the heartwarming moment a police officer surprised his long-term girlfriend with a marriage proposal at a shooting range.

Alexander Ben Ramos proposed to his partner, Aikheen Durango Cacal, a teacher, in Agusan Del Sur, the Philippines, on December 5.

Footage shows Aikheen practising shooting a gun with the help of her boyfriend's comrade, while Alexander is behind her ready to propose with a bouquet of flowers and his comrades holding a huge poster saying 'will you marry me?'

Moments later, the firearms instructor told Aikheen to look behind her. She saw her boyfriend kneeling on one knee and looking at her.

The supportive policemen popped confetti, and each gave the shocked girlfriend red roses.

Aikheen later said yes to the proposal.
