A water pipe burst and drowned roadside shops in southern China.

The CCTV footage was filmed in the city of Nanping in Fujian Province on January 2.

Gushing water entered a storefront, prompting quick action from shop staff who swiftly closed the roller shutters to block the flow.

A community worker at the scene reported that they promptly called the water company for repairs. The incident occurred due to a burst in a public pipeline along the roadside, resulting in a temporary water supply disruption to a nearby residential building, which was promptly restored after repairs.

Personnel from Nanping Water Development Limited Company stated that the exact cause of the pipe burst involves various uncertainties and requires further investigation.

The on-site disposal has been completed, and affected businesses are encouraged to negotiate compensation for losses with the company.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
