Russia says it fired rockets at Ukrainian military positions using MLRS
Russia has said that it hit Ukrainian positions using multiple launch rocket systems.
The images purport to show one of the Russian war machines manoeuvring out of a forested area and into position in a field before Russian soldiers can be seen climbing onto the vehicle.
The footage shows Russian soldiers making calculations and preparing to fire before launching rockets at unseen targets.
Then the footage cuts to explosions on the battlefield, allegedly the Ukrainian military positions.
The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence on Wednesday December 28, along with a statement saying: 'Crews of the Uragan multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) of the missile forces and artillery units of the 36th combined arms army of the Vostok group of forces destroyed a stronghold of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Ugledar area, located five kilometres from the line of combat contact.
'Objective monitoring footage received from the unmanned aerial vehicle confirmed that the target was successfully hit.
'The main task of the rocket men is to provide support to the assault units of the Vostok group of troops, which are carrying out actions to push the enemy out of fortified positions.
'The Uragan MLRS crews are on combat duty in position areas in the Ugledar direction of the special military operation around the clock and regardless of weather conditions.'
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation.'
