Storm Henk continues its wrath of destruction with flooding affecting many around the Midlands in England

Storm Henk continued its wrath of destruction in the Midlands today leaving many communities fearing that the worst is yet to come.

The town of Bridgnorth saw flooding several feet higher than usual on Thursday 4 January.

An American muscle car was only just keeping dry, although now trapped by flooding, if it gets any deeper, it will be an insurance write-off.

The nearby restaurant aptly named The Boatyard was closed due to being flooded.

Residents living along the River Severn have yet to see the peak, which is predicted to be around 5.25m heigh, less than 30cm off the highest level ever recorded.

Roads are impassable, and drivers have become stuck in deep water.

One driver of a silver BMW was seen struggling through a patch of water close to the River Avon in Evesham before his engine gave up just yards from dry land.

The small hamlet of Severn Stoke south of Worcester has also been badly hit with the Rose & Crown using homemade flood defences and a pump to stay as dry as possible.
