This is the moment a woman records an extraordinary video of a close encounter with what appears to be a UFO while driving.

Smartphone footage recorded by the woman, identified only as Ms Meng, shows the alleged flying saucer moving at an incredible speed along the motorway in the city of Chengdu, in Sichuan Province, China.

In the clip, the strange object can be seen storming at an alarming speed before suddenly disappearing just seconds later on Thursday, December 28.

When questioned by media, Meng said she was certain the lights were not the result of the reflection of other cars, but a true UFO display.

She added: 'What I saw on the highway at around 8:16 pm tonight in Jintang County, Chengdu, I thought it was a streetlight at first, but after driving for a while, the position remained unchanged and it was very high from the ground.'
