Phone thieves celebrated their successful heist with on-the-spot dance in southern China.

The CCTV footage was filmed in the city of Ziyang in Sichuan Province on December 16.

Four men rode a motorcycle to a telecommunications service centre to commit theft. Using pliers they had with them, they forced open the U-shaped lock on the glass door of the centre. Subsequently, they aggressively attacked the rolling shutter door from the inside, and three of the men managed to crawl into the store through a gap at the bottom of the shutter.

The four men had distinct roles, with one keeping watch outside while the other three engaged in the theft. Once inside the service centre, the trio systematically searched the premises and located 23 mobile phones on the counter.

In an unexpected turn, the thieves turned on the stolen phones' flashlights and started dancing. The entire process, from entering the store to leaving, took approximately 10 minutes.

Upon receiving the report, the local police immediately launched an investigation. On the morning of December 20th, the authorities apprehended the suspect, Mr Lyu. Following his arrest, his accomplices, Mr Ding, Mr Wang, and Mr Li, voluntarily surrendered at the police station.

Contrary to expectations, the showcased phones on the counter were not display models but actual working devices. The stolen 23 mobile phones had a collective value of over 32,000 yuan (£3,500).

After successfully carrying out the theft, the four individuals divided the spoils among themselves, each selling a portion of the stolen phones.

The three men who danced inside the service centre later confessed to the police that their impromptu celebration was fueled by overwhelming excitement.

Unbeknownst to them, every move they made inside the store was captured by surveillance cameras. The police have successfully recovered over 9,000 yuan (£1,000), and the case is under further investigation.
