This is a very special Buddhist temple in Banglamung, just Pattaya. Actually it's a Buddhist University, they planned to make an extension to the temple at the end of a pier that stretches 800 meters out into the ocean. It's a perfect view point for sunset. They ran out of funding for this and work stopped on the project about 30 years ago, according to a local that I met there. I have visited this place many times over the years. Almost every day you can see gold carts with families of deceased relatives driving to the end of the pier and laying the ashes along with flower petals to rest in the final resting place in the ocean. I think it's a lovely way to go. In my video you can see two gold carts returning from a funeral service. It made me very sad and wanted to cry even though I didn't know the people involved. Its an emotional sight, watching someone persons last trip on this planet.
If you want to find this temple on Google search for Ocean Sanctuary, Chittaphawan Monks College, Banglamung, Chonburi, Thailand.
While I was there I met a photographer from Russia and another one from Iraq, they come from all over the world to visit and photograph this place.
