A hit-and-run incident in Palm Coast took a bizarre turn as law enforcement apprehended Andrew Croswell and Clara Smith for their involvement in striking Flagler County Sheriff's Office Communications Specialist Stephen Watkins. The incident, which occurred on Sesame Blvd, saw Watkins being struck by a red Ford hatchback that callously fled the scene.
The subsequent investigation revealed an unusual twist. During a traffic stop, deputies discovered methamphetamine concealed between Croswell's buttocks. The suspects, Croswell and Smith, now face charges not only for the hit-and-run but also for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Sheriff Rick Staly expressed disdain for the suspects, labeling their actions as both cowardly and illegal. The discovery of methamphetamine hidden in such an unconventional manner adds a peculiar dimension to an already distressing incident, highlighting the severity of the charges against the arrested individuals.
