A shocking video has emerged from China of 50,000 passengers stranded in Guangzhou railway station because of the continuous rain and snow in northern China.

The footage, filmed in Guangdong Province on Tuesday, shows a large number of passengers waiting in front of the station, while police work to control the crowd.

According to local reports, Guangzhou Railway Bureau has launched a contingency plan, decreasing maintenance time for the trains, increasing the number of trains, enhancing information publishing and other emergency measures.
