Terrifying footage shows how a snake slithered towards a mother and daughter as they slept on the floor.

The tiny serpent was seen on CCTV slinking towards the mum's leg - which she felt and hurriedly scooped up her daughter away in Bangkok, Thailand.

The reptile then went in the opposite direction and left the house.

Speaking after, the woman said: 'I felt like something was poking my leg, so I woke up and looked over. When I saw that it was a snake, I was shocked and immediately picked up my daughter to escape.'

Reptile handlers arrived later that afternoon to search for the creature but it had already disappeared into nearby undergrowth. They are still unsure whether it was one of the many deadly species reptiles that are found across the country.
