STORYLINE:

Overseas students in the Changchun University of Chinese Medicine in northeast China's Jilin Province have embraced the allure of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) through diverse courses and training programs in recent years.

Passionate about the efficacy of TCM since young, Khiev Ken, a 22-year-old Cambodian, has studied TCM at the university for several years.

"I have always dreamed of studying in China since I was a child. I am very interested in the long history and abundant culture of TCM. For instance, acupuncture and Tuina remedial massage are effective treatment methods, which I find quite fascinating.
I want to further my studies of TCM in China in the future. Also, I want to bring the knowledge I have learned back to my hometown to provide better medical services to the local people."

Ken's aspiration to promote TCM in her mother country is echoed by her schoolmate Dariga Boken, a Kazakh student learning acupuncture in China.
