The waters of the Yellow River at Hukou Waterfall in northern China have miraculously turned clear.

The video was filmed in the city of Yichuan in Shaanxi Province on January 8.

The majestic sight features the Yellow River resembling a silver ribbon cascading down the mountains, creating a spectacular display. The splashing water forms crystalline ice formations along the riverbank, creating a frozen spectacle of hanging ice and a clear waterfall.

According to a staff member at the Hukou Waterfall scenic area, the change from the typical yellow colour to clear water in the winter is influenced by factors such as water flow and sedimentation.

As a gesture of appreciation for the visitors' enthusiasm, the Hukou Waterfall scenic area in Shaanxi has announced free admission for the entire month of January 2024.
