A drunk driver attempted to pull a Hollywood-style drift parking to outwit pursuing police in eastern China.

The CCTV footage was filmed in the city of Heze in Shandong Province on January 5.

A man driving under the influence attempted to evade a police checkpoint, leading officers on a high-speed chase.

After manoeuvring through a junction, the intoxicated driver executed a dramatic Hollywood-style drift, making a swift U-turn and parking at the roadside, quickly turning off the lights in an attempt to deceive authorities.

To his dismay, the police instantly recognized the evasion tactic. The driver accelerated once more in a desperate bid to escape but found himself in a panic, accelerating too forcefully and colliding with a large tree. The impact forced him to come to a halt, allowing the pursuing officers to swiftly apprehend him.

In the end, the intoxicated driver was taken into custody, while the other occupants of the vehicle emerged unharmed.
