The Tunisian Tourism Ministry stated on Monday that it will vigorously improve the quality of tourism services to increase the revenue-generating capacity of the tourism industry.
The ministry said in a statement that Tunisia will develop unified industry standards across the country to improve the competitiveness and profitability of the tourism and handicraft production industry.
Tourism and tourism-related handicraft industry play an important role in the Tunisian economy.
According to data recently released by the ministry, the revenue generated by these two industries in 2023 accounted for approximately 9 percent and 4 percent respectively of Tunisia's GDP, creating a total of 700,000 jobs.
